Boxers and a Lab Coat
i am definitely one of the YOUNGEST among the crunky (can you say crunky?) crusaders for children's environmental health at columbia... yet... i have a senior-ish position. haha... this makes me happy because i don't enjoy being micromanaged. i need my autonomy. autonomy = trust. this also makes me unhappy because i am uncomfortable with the idea of managing others, twice my age, but, errr less senior-ish. luckily, my role as "community health education program coordinator" leaves my work largely separated from most of the others, so i have yet to delegate work out to anyone... i wonder how that will be perceived.
it probably doesn't help that i do retarded (unprofessional? fobby? haha... call it what you want) things... like sit at my desk in my boxers wrapped in a lab coat, because my clothes, drenched in rain (stupid weather man) are air-drying in the bathroom. oh well... i'll just woo people with my charm ;)
woohoo! tomorrow, i treat my family out to dinner, in celebration of my first check. probably minado in carle place. mmmm... all you can eat sushi!
